Use of the Service

Chinese Reader Pro is a language learning tool that helps users read Chinese text on websites. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.

Free and Paid Features

Chinese Reader Pro may offer free features, paid subscriptions, and AI credit packs. Paid features may include AI explanations, cloud sync, saved vocabulary, flashcards, achievements, and other premium learning tools.

Subscriptions and Credits

Subscription plans renew automatically unless cancelled. Credit packs are optional and may be used for AI-powered translation, AI explanations, live video translation, full-page PDF export, and other metered features. Pricing and included features may change over time.

Affiliate Program

Chinese Reader Pro may offer an affiliate program for approved affiliates. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, approved affiliates earn 10% of what a referred customer pays for eligible Chinese Reader Pro purchases that are tracked to that affiliate.

Affiliate payouts are made once per month, during the first week of the month, for eligible confirmed commissions from the previous payout period. Commissions are not paid on refunded, reversed, disputed, fraudulent, test, or self-referred transactions.

Affiliates are responsible for providing accurate payout details and any tax information requested. Chinese Reader Pro may reject applications or remove affiliates for misleading claims, spam, coupon abuse, unlawful promotion, or activity that may harm the product or its users.

AI Output

AI-generated explanations and translations may contain mistakes. Chinese Reader Pro is a learning aid and should not be treated as professional, legal, medical, financial, or official translation advice.

AI translation features use OpenAI technology, including current ChatGPT-family models configured for translation in our backend. Model availability, behavior, quality, and response time may change over time.

Video Translation Limits

Live video translation may work on many videos, including blogs, course videos, YouTube videos without captions, and other web video content. However, Chinese Reader Pro does not guarantee that video translation will work on every website, app, stream, or video platform.

Some services use DRM, protected media players, blocked audio capture, custom subtitle rendering, shadow DOM, canvas rendering, cross-origin frames, or unusual playback systems. In those cases, the extension may not be able to read subtitles, capture audio, detect timing, pause playback, or generate reliable live captions.

Chinese Reader Pro cannot bypass Chrome, browser, operating system, platform, or DRM rules. Live video translation does not depend on website captions, but Chrome still requires tab audio capture to be started by a user action, and protected or restricted pages may block audio capture. These are browser and platform security limits, not Chinese Reader Pro extension logic.

English translation in Live Translation is delayed by about 2-3 seconds while audio is processed and captions are generated. This disclosed delay is expected behavior and is not a service defect.

User Data

Users are responsible for the words and learning content they save. We may store vocabulary and learning progress to provide cloud sync and product functionality.

Service Availability

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change, pause, or be discontinued.

Refunds

Refund eligibility depends on the payment provider and applicable law. Contact chinesereaderpro@gmail.com for billing questions.

Except where required by applicable law or payment provider rules, purchases are not refundable based on the clearly disclosed 2-3 second English translation delay in Live Translation.
